Dredger back at work on Sealand Express
Sep 7, 2003
Damage to the port rudder of the dredger Ham 316, which was incapacitated on Friday evening has proved less serious than thought and the dredger was able to resume work this morning on clearing the sandbank around the grounded container ship Sealand Express in Table Bay.
Focus this week will centre on the next refloating attempt due to take place on the spring tide beginning on Thursday, 11 September. The salvage tug John Ross remains in the vicinity at anchor off Milnerton and will be connected up towards the middle of the week. She will be assisted by two other tugs.
