Rate increases for Indian Ocean services

The Hong Kong Shipping Gazette reports that member lines of the Asia–East Africa Discussion Forum intend increasing rates from 1 November 2004.
The group, consisting of Maersk Sealand, MOL, P&O Nedlloyd, Delmas and PIL said in a statement that cargo between Asia and East African ports (Westbound) will be subject to an increased charge of US0 per TEU.
Eastbound cargo from East African ports (Mombasa and Dar es Salaam) to Asia is not mentioned.
