Mar 24, 2005
The Dutch port company Cornelder, which took over management of the Mozambique port of Quelimane last week will immediately begin upgrading harbour facilities using a 23M euro grant made available by the German investment bank KFW.
The 25-year lease requires Cornelder to maintain and upgrade port infrastructure and equipment and assume control of all cargo handling operations and ship services including stevedoring.
Cornelder Netherlands holds a 70% stake in Cornelder Mozambique with CFM, the government-owned port and rail company holding the balance.
