Durban Clipper has just taken victory in Race 4 of the Clipper Round the World yacht race 2005/06. They finished the race beating on a starboard tack under a full moon with a following of a local flotilla showing their support.

A huge cannon fired from The Roundhouse marking the moment at 22.54 local time when Durban Clipper passed the Maritime Museum and became the first boat into Western Australia.

A party awaits them at Fishing Boat Harbour, where they are expected to arrive in just over an hour, having first cleared customs into Australia.

Victoria Clipper had just under 30 minutes to go to the finish line.
