Two new projects undertaken by SAPO have resulted in several new appointments at senior management level.

A new Container and Bulk/Break Bulk Terminal at the Port of Ngqura and the new Automotive Channel from Durban to Gauteng which will establish Inland Car Terminals linked by a rail service will result in changes in SAPO management especially at Business Unit Executive (BUE) level.

Siya Mhlaluka has been appointed as Terminal Development Executive and will oversee the development of the new terminals at Ngqura.

Siya was the BUE at the Port Elizabeth terminals since 2003 and oversaw the successful merger of the PE terminals where productivity has since reached record levels.

Beverley Masson, has been appointed as Automotive Channel Manager (KZN to Gauteng).

Beverley was BUE at the Durban Car Terminal for almost a decade and did a short stint at the Durban Multi-Purpose Terminal (MPT).

Hector Danisa, formerly BUE at the Cape Town MPT, will take over from Siya as BUE at the PE terminals.
Earl Peters, who was Financial Manager at the Cape Town MPT since 2001, served as acting BUE in 2004 before being appointed as Chief of Operations at the Durban MPT in 2006. Earl has now been appointed as acting BUE at the Durban MPT.

Chief Operations Manager at the Saldanha Bulk Terminal, Lionel Kruger, has been appointed acting BUE. Lionel is currently completing his MBA thesis.
